Daniel Avila
Chief Executive Officer & Principal Consultant
Daniel brings a rare background to Day Ten as a strategic thinker, an established leader and a technically proficient engineer.
He earned a B.S. in Systems and Astronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy as the top commissioning officer into the U.S. Space Force. In the Space Force, Daniel was a developmental engineer where he worked on tactical space systems at the MIT Lincoln Laboratory, as well as managing acquisition programs.
He holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a Belfer Young Leader Fellow. During his time at Harvard, Daniel researched outer space policy, proposed defense acquisition and workforce policies, and explored emerging technologies including artificial intelligence. He also founded Orbital Pulse Media, a news outlet dedicated to outer space development.
Day Ten brings that broad range of expertise to small and medium-sized businesses: long-term strategy, implementation of cutting-edge AI technology, and structured frameworks to minimize administrative friction.
The name
Why Day Ten.
Day Ten is inspired by the story of Daniel in the Old Testament. Daniel and his friends fasted from the king's food for ten days, and that is where the name comes from.
Between fasting from the food of a king, surviving being thrown into a furnace, and coming out unscathed after a night in a lion's den, the book of Daniel highlights how God reacts when we have unwavering belief in Him.
At Day Ten Consulting, we know that entrepreneurship is a journey of battles where our faith is tested. We also know that by committing ourselves fully, and trusting the process of building, miracles are possible.
